Yesterday, the ˿����Ƶ Tech community reunited for our annual Convocation ceremony. This event not only celebrated the arrival of Fall Term but also welcomed new faculty and staff members, who met to prepare for a new academic year beginning Sept. 25. The ceremony also highlights the dedication and contributions of ˿����Ƶ Tech faculty and staff. Several employees received special recognition during the ceremony in recognition of their commitment to the university and its students. Three ˿����Ƶ Tech Nuclear Medicine students recently joined RAD-AID International on a trip to Indonesia in August. Will Duarte, Gabby Halgren, and Tevin Glover traveled with Professor Rick Hoylman to Jakarta and Bandung, helping improve healthcare through education. The students gave presentations on nuclear medicine and worked with local healthcare professionals. This trip highlighted the global need for better healthcare services and allowed students to gain hands-on experience. Alumna Vindy Sermumes spotted the team's social media posts and reached out to connect. Vindy came to the U.S.

🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Class of 2024 🎓 From Mexico to ˿����Ƶ Tech, José Ignacio Garcia’s journey is a testament to perseverance. Moving to the U.S. at 14, José overcame language barriers and cultural differences. His journey in higher education began at George Fox University, but due to costs, he transferred to Clackamas Community College, where he completed his general education courses and earned his associate degree. A visit to ˿����Ƶ Tech with his sister sealed his next step.

Dr. Anne Davenport, an instructor in ˿����Ƶ Tech's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, has combined her passion for health and art in a new mural titled "The Portal That Heals Me," now displayed on the Sky Lakes Medical Center Washburn Way Pharmacy. Dr. Davenport, who is also a Sky Lakes Physical Therapist and the Health Promotion Services Manager at the Klamath Basin Senior Citizens’ Center, specializes in geriatrics, acute care, community wellness, and fall prevention. Her mural reflects the connection between healing and creativity. Thank you, Dr.

The other week our professor Rick had the opportunity to bring 3 of our students to Indonesia in partnership with RAD-AID. They went with the goal of helping increase education around PET/CT imaging in Indonesia. Rad-AID is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving radiology healthcare services in underprivileged areas around the world.

Lecturing to students from ˿����Ƶ – combined with a plunge into authentic Finnish sauna culture 🇺🇸🇫🇮 Our topics included entrepreneurship, communications, public relations, networking, sustainability and international business etiquette. And a lot of great discussions!
