Three Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Nuclear Medicine students recently joined RAD-AID International on a trip to Indonesia in August. Will Duarte, Gabby Halgren, and Tevin Glover traveled with Professor Rick Hoylman to Jakarta and Bandung, helping improve healthcare through education.
The students gave presentations on nuclear medicine and worked with local healthcare professionals. This trip highlighted the global need for better healthcare services and allowed students to gain hands-on experience.
Alumna Vindy Sermumes spotted the team's social media posts and reached out to connect. Vindy came to the U.S. from Indonesia to study Nuclear Medicine Technology at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, graduating from the program in 2016. She returned to Indonesia and reached out to meet up with the team, visiting them during their travels. Vindy now works in Nuclear Medicine at a hospital in Jakarta and is the Nuclear Medicine representative for the Indonesian Radiographic Society in Jakarta.
Professor Hoylman said that the trip exceeded his expectations, and Will Duarte shared that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. 💙
