While I haven’t been posting as frequently, much of the past two months has been putting my head down and working. I recently got to reconnect with the faculty and staff at oregon_tech , where I had the opportunity to share my story of life after graduation as a commencement speaker for the class of 2024. My career path as a pharmacist has taken many unlikely and unrelated turns into stunts, circus, and freediving, but I wanted to share that careers in science and technology or careers off the beaten path are not mutually exclusive.

As part of ˿Ƶ Tech’s biology of companion animals coursework, students in assistant professor Tricia Elliott’s class have worked with baby goats, snakes, lizards, baby quail, and rabbits. Two special events during spring term also took them outside the classroom for hands-on care of horses, dogs, and cats. The class serves as a pre-veterinary course but is available to all students.

Dog Day at ˿Ƶ Tech was a success! Held the week before finals, faculty and students created this event to help our students de-stress and hug a loving friend. 🐶 Furry friends bring joy and relaxation, providing much-needed relief as we prep for finals and graduation. Thank you to the Business and Innovation Club and the Natural Science Department for sponsoring and organizing this great event.
