Portland-Metro Academic Advising
The Office of Academic Advising has a presence at our Portland-Metro Campus. Kelly Filipchuk advises all admitted Portland-Metro Campus students except for those in the Medical Lab Sciences (MLS) or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) departments (see Deb Disko).
Kelly (she/her/hers) started her career as an academic advisor in 2015 at Columbia Gorge Community College. In 2021, she moved to Portland & started working at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech's Portland-Metro Campus, supporting the work of the faculty advisors on campus and providing extra student support. She is passionate about helping students see their path toward graduation and improving the transfer experience for students.
If you are a Portland-Metro student, please reach out to Kelly for any advising questions. A reminder that Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech students are assigned a faculty advisor and most Portland-Metro campus students have Kelly as a secondary advisor.
Located within the Student Services Office (1st floor). The office is open Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm. Advising hours may vary within that timeframe; use the Bookings link to see advisor availability & to schedule an appointment. Your Faculty Advisor is there to talk to you about your field of study, course content, and give final approval on the courses you plan to take each term.
Secondary Academic Advisors are here to help you connect with your faculty advisor, give general advising, and will help you find and use campus resources effectively; they are your best contact for understanding school policies and procedures, managing logistical issues, as well as, answering general questions about how to navigate the university.
Not admitted yet? Contact Admissions (oit@oit.edu) or the Transfer/Pre-Admissions Advisor (/admissions/transfer).
