A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me

I have two sisters and a brother, and I am the youngest in my family. My dad was deported when I was 2 years old which rocked my family's life and mine from the very beginning. Growing up without a father was strange because my mom was never around since she was providing for 4 children under the age of 10. I was always good at school and enjoyed it, and I am a first-generation college student and bilingual.

Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major

I want to pursue a career in healthcare, and going to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech will help me achieve my goal of becoming a nurse. I want to be able to interact with patients and help them be healthy. Last summer, I completed a month-long intensive program to earn my CNA license — studying day and night, going to class Monday through Friday from 8 a.m,-4 p.m. It made me become interested in nursing and want to become an RN.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech

I am a very determined person and have been putting in hard work in order to thrive in my medical terminology class. I never enjoyed a class and found that I could have a career in any until I had my medical terminology class. The medical field is the right path for me because helping people and being selfless is something that is amazing to practice. Right now, I have 100% in my terminology class, and I enjoy learning about the human body and how simple words can be turned into long medical words.

My Plans After Graduation

I want to work in pediatrics because one of my nephews was born with a swollen kidney. The way the nurses and doctors interact with my nephew in order to make him feel comfortable really inspires me to want to help kids. Children don’t understand why they’re sick, and all they want is to feel better. I want to become a pediatric nurse so I can comfort kids and help them improve and get better. I want to work in the Rogue Valley and stay home for a while just to get experience with my new degree.
