Certificate of Completion - Composite Engineering or Engineering Technology
The increasing use of composites in Boeing aircraft resulted in a growing need for employees conversant in composite materials and processes. Over a decade ago, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, in conjunction with Boeing's Manufacturing Skills Team, developed a series of classes that provides employees this essential knowledge and skill set. Boeing professionals in the field of composite materials serve as instructors for these introductory classes. The Certificate of Completion in Composite Engineering or Engineering Technology consists of four classes, each class consisting of 4 credits.
Students may use Composite courses as elective course in their degrees of study.
Student wanting to purse either Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology degrees can take the ENGT course sequence while Mechanical Engineering degree can only use ENGR course sequence courses.
The recommended course schedule for the Composite certificate is as follows:
Composite Materials and Processes I ( ENGR or ENGT 407C )
Applied Composites I ( ENGR or ENGT 407A )
Composite Materials and Processes II ( ENGR or ENGT 407D )
Applied Composites II ( ENGR or ENGT 407B )
Certificate of Completion - Composite Engineering, Maintenance and Repair Technology
With the advent of 787 aircraft there is now the need for employees knowledgeable and skilled in the maintenance and repair of composites. Boeing professionals in the field of composite materials serve as instructors for these introductory classes. The Certificate of Completion in Composite Engineering, Maintenance and Repair Technology consists of two classes, each class consisting of 4 credits. These two classes build on previous class material so there are required pre-requisites.
- Composite Maintenance - requires Applied Composites I & II ( ENGT 407E)
- Composite Repair - requires Composite Maintenance; Applied Composites I & II ( ENGT 407F)
New students wishing to take only composite classes may enter the program as non-admitted students.
