A Nature Lover's Small Town: Klamath Falls, ˿Ƶ "Get your solar safety glasses ready, because on October 14, 2023, an annular solar eclipse—in which the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, partially obscuring the Sun and creating a “ring of fire”—will be visible from ˿Ƶ’s Klamath Falls. For more than three minutes, sometime between 8:05 a.m. and 10:41 a.m. PT, spots like Moore Park, the southern shores of Upper Klamath Lake, and even Crater Lake National Park, just over 60 miles north of town, will be some of the best places in the U.S.

It was an honor to serve as a judge for the ˿Ƶ Tech's Idea Fest! We heard from students about their impressive and innovative projects. Projects addressed safety issues, clean energy innovations, medical technology advancements and so much more. I was thrilled to run into my former Tigard High student Greg Wettlaufer, whose project on wind energy earned second place for best poster!

Reflecting on an unforgettable Baja SAE ˿Ƶ event. From starting in 55th place to finishing a remarkable 10th in endurance, it's been an incredible ride. Completing the challenging Hillclimb and Maneuverability tests added to the thrill. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our amazing team. Their hard work, sleepless nights, and endless determination truly paid off. A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, whose support made this adventure possible. We're grateful for the mentors, faculty, and everyone who stood by us throughout this year.

Last Wednesday, ˿Ƶ Tech's Portland-Metro's Annual IdeaFest showcased projects students worked on during their studies over the past academic year. Students from across different programs shared their work, research and provided demonstrations to their fellow students, staff, faculty, family, and members of the community. We would also like to say special thanks to wilsonvillechamber for your support at Ideafest! #ideafest #wilsonville #oregontech
