Students in Communication Studies and Professional Writing are developing an app and creating video/print media

Searching for ways to engage their students and show the variety of applications for the Communication Studies and Professional Writing degrees at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, associate professors Dr. Franny Howes and Dr. Amber Lancaster created two unique summer research projects. While brainstorming ways to offer their students hands-on opportunities, they developed summer internships opportunities for a gender-neutral pronoun app and a video/print media project.

Students in Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech’s Professional Writing Class Work with Blue Zones to Obtain Nearly $10k in Grants

As part of assistant professor and co-director of Professional Writing at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ (Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech), Amber Lancaster, Ph.D., tasked her students to partner with professional clients to pursue funding for a number of community projects. The result of two of those projects amounted to $9,500 in grant funding awarded to the Klamath Falls Blue Zones Project.
