A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me

Favorite part of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech: The relationships that I am able to build and the networking opportunities that are available to me at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech with the clubs and the experienced professors. Career goals: None specific as of now, but I could see myself working in a materials testing lab someday for structural engineering materials. I really enjoy performing tasks just as tensile testing and rod designs.

Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major

Being local and wanted to study engineering, coming to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech wasn't a super hard decision to make. It offers everything that I was looking for in a university and did so at an extremely affordable price. I get the small class sizes, low tuition, lots of opportunities to work, and a high-quality education.

My Influential Professors

I have found my most inspirational professors to be those that seem to really care about the quality of education that they are providing. Up to this point, the ones that have stood out the most to me are Irina Demeshko from the MET department and Kenneth Davis from the math department.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech

Thus far, my greatest learning experience came early in freshman year. Throughout high school, I had been able to succeed relatively easily, not needing to work too hard in order to earn the grades I wanted. I found that this just wasn't the case at the college level, as it only took me two weeks to fail my first general chemistry quiz and see the first 'D' I had ever seen associated with my name. Right then and there I realized that it would take a different level of commitment and dedication in order to succeed the way I wanted.

My Plans After Graduation

After graduating with a degree as a civil engineer, I hope to work in either the structures field or the geotechnical engineering field. In terms of what see myself doing on a day to day basis, I'm not positive on that yet and plan to use internships in the upcoming summers to help me decide this. I don't see myself staying local unless an opportunity that I absolutely cannot pass up arises.
