Extracurricular Activities

I do occasional volunteering with the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge, and I also currently work with dogs in a part-time position called the PetsHotel at PetSmart (I'll be pausing when I come to Klamath Falls). We house and care for dogs during owners' vacations and also do dog day-care there. I also do online unpaid tutoring help for several of my friends who need help with Mathematics and writing essays.

A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me

I mostly grew up in Washington and Tualatin, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. I love hanging out with animals of any kind, and understand them well. I've always been academically strong in school, especially with Mathematics, and I planned to follow my three brothers (also strong in mathematics) into a degree such as Engineering or Computer Science, but I decided to switch to Biology / Environmental Sciences because I realized I would rather not burn out my enjoyment for mathematics at a desk job, and instead, I could pursue Environmental Sciences and explore my passion for animals and wildlife. This leads me to Klamath Falls, where I'll be studying, and I hope to find some additional opportunities for research or conservation as I study. After graduating, I hope to work with wildlife if I can.

Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major

I first attended Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech at the Portland-Metro campus in Wilsonville, near where I live, before going to Klamath Falls. I was taking classes toward an Engineering degree due to my strengths in Mathematics, but I decided to switch to Biology / Environmental Sciences after taking some inspirational classes from Professor Jherime Kellermann and realizing I wanted more than a desk job.

My Influential Professors

My most influential professor has been Professor Jherime Kellermann, the head of Natural Sciences at Klamath Falls. I was taking online classes toward an engineering degree, but after taking an online ornithology and a biology class from Professor Kellermann, I decided to switch to pursuing biology. This led me to Idaho State University and to Environmental Sciences at Klamath Falls after that. I hope to follow Professor Kellermann and participate in any Natural Sciences student opportunities that I can during my stay in Klamath Falls.

My Plans After Graduation

After graduating with my degree, I hope to work with wildlife in any matter I can, and to help to preserve the beauty in the nature in this world. I'm not sure if I'd be working with the Department of Fish and Wildlife or another organization that works with wildlife resources. I'm also interested in Wildlife Rehabilitation, as I enjoy working with live animals and helping them to recover.
