A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me

I’m an older student (34 now) and am entering my 9th and final year of college. I've had incredible mentors, advisors, and family to help guide me to where I am now. I've never felt very book smart, but I will put in the work, and never get discouraged. I’m a fun-loving person but know when it’s time to be serious. When I’m not in class or at work, I spend my time exercising, cooking, and watching UFC and Supercross with my wife, Julie, and pup D’arce. Like many people, I've dealt with my share of problems, but I believe my perspective keeps me balanced and always optimistic.

Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major

I chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech because I loved the culture and environment it has, allowing students to focus on being top notch professionals, and amazing individuals. I chose my field because mechanical engineers are the jack-of-all-trades. They can approach any problem or need and derive a solution. Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech has a rich tradition of producing some of the best ME’s in the world, and I'm grateful to be part of this tradition.

My Influential Professors

My most influential professors at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech are Professor's Stover, Dimeschko, Culler, and Sloan. Each have a wealth of engineering knowledge, a passion for teaching, and have demonstrated a desire to help their students excel in all aspects of their life. Each have repeatedly gone above and beyond to ensure I have the resources to succeed academically and personally. They devote extra time to help with homework, give career guidance, and have given me a listening ear. Professors like these make not only excellent engineers, but also, outstanding individuals who can represent Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech proudly.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech

My greatest learning experience at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech is realizing that I am cut out for engineering. In community college I was never academically gifted like others, rather, I had to work harder than the rest. Near the end of my degree, now with industry experience, I've realized that my ability to keep working hard, regardless of the circumstance is my biggest strength. The Challenge Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech has provided has reaffirmed my confidence in my work ethic, personal character, and discipline.

My Plans After Graduation

After I graduate, I want to do a little bit of a lot, honestly. I want to build fun motorsports equipment, design new energy systems, advance medical technology, and perhaps someday teach. Cliche perhaps, but my mom would haunt me if I don't do as much good as possible. I love to help others, and being a mechanical engineer provides a great deal of opportunity to do just that. I've learned that the best path is the one less traveled, and I plan to blaze my own trail and do as much good with my skills as possible.
