A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me
I grew up in a small town outside of Klamath Falls, OR called Malin. I graduated from Lost River Jr./Sr. high school. The reason why I went into the medical field was because of my medical history. I grew up with a hernia in my diaphragm and was life-flighted to Portland, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, hence why I want to go back and work in Portland once I graduate. My parents were given low chances of survival and a rocky road ahead of them with many surgeries and transplants. However, none of that happened and I luckily needed only one surgery after at the age of 19, but other than that I am considered a normal healthy person. I decided on respiratory therapy after job shadowing a person. In my free time I like to spend as much time as possible with family and friends and enjoy being outdoors.
Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major
I chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech because of the smaller class sizes and the ability be able to learn hands-on. I always wanted to go into the medical field and decided on respiratory therapy after shadowing one at my local hospital. I love how the environment is or can be a little more fast paced and you deal with a variety of different patients as you work in multiple departments, not just one.
My Influential Professors
My most influential professors are Lauren Nelson, Jeff Pardy, and Michael Gilinsky. All three of these professors put so much effort into my education to make sure I receive the best education possible.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech
I believe the biggest learning experience so far has been that not everyone has the same path as you. You cannot be discouraged for having a different timeline than those around you and around the same age as you, just because someone is more ahead on their goals does not make you less.
My Plans After Graduation
After graduation I plan to move into a bigger city with a bigger hospital such as in Portland. I plan to stay there for a few years to help the Portland community and eventually come back to Klamath Falls to be closer to family and give back to the community that gave back to me when I was growing up.
