A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me
I grew up in Hawai'i on the island of Oahu. I have played baseball since I was six years old. Baseball was my life growing up. To this day, I still pursue my dream to play college ball. As a student-athlete, my goal was to better myself both on the field and off the field. I maintained a GPA of 3.9 and graduated with Academic, STEM and Career-Technical Education (CTE) honors while partaking in extracurriculars. I'm always looking for different ways to better myself, whether it is spending long hours on the field or in the classroom. I look for new ways to physically and mentally challenge myself. I always try my best to be a sponge and absorb all the knowledge that I can from my peers.
Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major
I chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech for many reasons. One of them is the technical and professional programs, particularly in the engineering field, which is what I will be majoring in. Growing up I loved building, constructing, and working with my hands. I worked a lot with my grandfather helping his company build houses from the ground up. With Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, the hands-on learning will help me expand my knowledge.
My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech
Some unique qualities that I'm bringing with me to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech are my extracurricular involvement such as participating in clubs, sports, and volunteering that showcases my interests and abilities to manage my time and responsibilities outside of academics. Another quality that I will carry with me throughout my education at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech is my grit to strive academically. During high school, while playing two sports and participating in clubs, I managed to maintain a 3.9 GPA and achieved three types of Honors (Academic, CTE, STEM).
My Plans After Graduation
A civil engineering degree can open up a wide range of career opportunities in various industries. My plan is to come back home to seek a wealthy lifestyle so that I can live comfortably in such an expensive state like Hawai'i. I plan to use my degree to find engineering jobs that are in demand. During my summers when I fly home in between school years, I plan to look for internships in Hawai'i that I partake in to get my foot in the door. This can lead me to finding a job having more experience after graduating.
