2021 Commencement Keynotes

Duncan Wyse, President of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Business Council, and Dr. Carol Dahl, executive director of the Lemelson Foundation, will serve as keynote speakers for the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ virtual commencement ceremony June 12, 2021.

Duncan Wyse has been president of the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Business Council (OBC) since 1995. OBC is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose members are principally chief executives at some of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s largest enterprises. OBC focuses the knowledge and resources of its members on key, long-range public policy issues facing Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, such as economic development, education, health care, transportation and public finance. OBC has launched many statewide initiatives, including the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Business Plan and Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Learns. Wyse also serves as the executive director of the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Business Council Charitable Institute.

Dr. Carol Dahl is the executive director of The Lemelson Foundation and leads the Foundation’s work to use the power of invention to improve lives. The Foundation inspires and enables the next generation of inventors and invention-based enterprises to promote economic growth and address critical challenges in the U.S., and to help solve social and economic problems for the poorest populations in low- and middle-income countries. In Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, the Foundation works to enhance the invention and innovation ecosystem through support to invention education programs reaching students in K12 through higher education, as well as the innovation pathway for emerging entrepreneurs.

The virtual ceremony will combine all campus ceremonies and provide a broadcast for the College of Engineering, Technology and Management, and one for the College of Health, Arts and Sciences. Each will be presented through YouTube Saturday, June 12, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the College of ETM, followed by the College of HAS at 11:30.
