The ˿Ƶ (˿Ƶ Tech) Foundation Board welcomed a new member recently. A retired executive director of the Wendt Family Foundation, Robert (Bob) Kingzett has over 38 years of experience in philanthropy and will serve on the ˿Ƶ Tech Foundation Board of Directors and the development committee.
The ˿Ƶ Tech Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of alumni, community members, and business and industry professionals. The Board counsels the Foundation in supporting educational, cultural, charitable, and service activities of ˿Ƶ.
Kingzett is a native ˿Ƶian who has lived in Klamath Falls for 42 years. In 2004, Kingzett was appointed as the first executive director of the JELD-WEN Foundation. He served over 11 years in that capacity until the JELD-WEN Foundation merged into the Wendt Family Foundation. Earlier in his career, Kingzett was CEO of the Klamath County Family YMCA and spent time as student activities director at ˿Ƶ Tech.
Kingzett has a baccalaureate degree from ˿Ƶ State University, where he served as student body president, and a master’s degree in business from Willamette University. He and his wife Linda have four adult children and 10 grandchildren, including one-year-old twins.
Kingzett was nominated for the ˿Ƶ Tech Foundation by the Foundation Committee on Directors (COD). Recognized as a longtime Klamath Falls resident and community leader, the Foundation is proud to welcome him to the Board. “The COD has considered Bob Kingzett as a director candidate for several years while he completed a 6-year commitment to the Wendt Family Foundation,” shared COD co-chair Jim Blair. “While in that role, Bob played an important part in the Foundation’s support for ˿Ƶ Tech, including funding the Center for Excellence in Engineering and Technology. During the past few months, Bob has played a key role in helping ˿Ƶ Tech pursue support from other Foundations in the Northwest.”
The ˿Ƶ Tech Foundation raises funds and solicits many other forms of support for the endowment, scholarships, capital projects and much more. Committed to excellence in science, technology and health professions education, the Foundation works not simply to help ˿Ƶ Tech grow but to grow with intention and in ways that foster a better education and experience for students and a brighter future for ˿Ƶ and beyond.
The ˿Ƶ Tech Foundation awarded over 300 scholarships, totaling more than $875,000, for the 2021-2022 academic year.
