Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ returned in person to celebrate graduates of the Class of 2022, which includes 793 individuals, some of whom received multiple degrees, across all campus locations.
This year, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech held separate ceremonies in Klamath Falls for the College of Health, Arts, and Sciences, and the College of Engineering, Technology, and Management. Commencement ceremonies were also held in Wilsonville at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech’s Portland-Metro campus and in Seattle at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech’s site for Boeing employees. Graduates of 2021 and 2020 had virtual commencement ceremonies in their respective years and were invited to celebrate in person at the 2022 ceremonies.
Events began Friday at the student and alumni awards celebration, which recognized numerous academic accolades, volunteer experience, activity involvement, and military service accomplishments:
- Graduate Student Achievement Award – Justin Echternacht, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Hiram M. Hunt Award – Anxiety Adventure Group: Drew Bryant, Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering Technology; Jacy Wasoski, a junior in Professional Writing; and Clint Rogers, a junior in Professional Writing.
- Most Dedicated Student Award – Daniel Allen Craig, Bachelor of Science in Population Health Management.
- Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Pride Award – Rowan Parker, Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, and a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering.
- Outstanding Academic Achievement Award – Rebecca Anne Marszalek, Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology.
- Outstanding Community Service Award (Klamath Falls) – The GIS 432 Group: Jamie Sue Blankenship, Jesse Crofutt, McKenna Hein, and Kayla Nystrom, each graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics with an option in GIS.
- Outstanding Community Service Award (Portland-Metro) – Jack Zoucha, anticipated graduation date with a Bachelor of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering in December 2023.
- Outstanding Nontraditional Student Award and Outstanding Student Involvement Award – Pamela Jackson, Bachelor and Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering.
- Outstanding Student Veteran Award – Ronald Lee Collins, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Owens Citizenship Award – Elizabeth Rose Wright, Bachelor of Science in Operations Management.
- Student Achievement Award – Baelie Werner, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- President’s Senior Cup Recipients – Eleanor Kenyon (Environmental Sciences) from the College of Health, Arts, and Sciences and Mariano Adlai Segura (Mechanical Engineering) from the College of Engineering, Technology, and Management.
Additional awards were given to one student from each campus program to recognize the Outstanding Scholars Award and the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Alumni Association presented awards to recognize the accomplishments and support of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech alumni and friends.
The Class of 2022 has a current competitive edge, with 96% of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech graduates employed or in graduate programs within six months of graduation. The high return on investment is reinforced by the $60,000 starting median salary graduates earn.
