Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech is proud of the eight students and two instructors from our Dental Hygiene program in Klamath Falls who traveled to Grenada this summer to provide much-needed dental care to underserved rural communities. As part of the International Externship Program (IEP), the team set up clinics at two schools, offering dental services for eight hours a day over five days. The student team—Sierra Avril, Rachel Broskey, Kylie Berg, Maria Corona, Ally Crowell, Cas Harrod, Melissa Lee, and Audrey Vanderhoff—worked under the guidance of faculty instructors Jeannie Bopp and Lois Goeres. They faced long bus rides, unfamiliar equipment, and extreme heat, all while delivering high-quality care to those in need. This hands-on experience will prepare them for future careers in public health, dental missions, rural health, and mobile dentistry, and it’s an amazing example of the real-world impact our students are making.
