This season I’m making an extra effort to also attend some college games, specifically ones where guys I’ve covered in the past are currently playing. So when I saw that oitmbb was making their last trip to the Portland area for some games, I knew I needed to attend - especially since it would be the last (convenient) time for me to see their senior class play at the college level. Appreciated the hospitality from coachtayo32 and nomahbasketball to attend the game on the campus of Multnomah and as I expected, there were plenty of familiar folks in attendance including the coaching staffs and players from southridgehoops and clevelandbasketballpdx who where there to support their former players/teammates who were playing. It was a tight game - people may not know how good the Multnomah team is this year - but in the end, OIT survived 78-70. After the game it was great to catch up with some of the guys I covered over the years and of course, get some pics with them. Got a chance to chat with OIT HC Justin Parnell for a bit - which was special as I’ve been around long enough that I covered him when he was in high school back at Sutherlin. It’s amazing when I think back just how long I’ve been around on the scene - even with the decade I was out of it - and how many connections that were made and have continued on during that time.
