Fifteen high school students from Klamath, Medford, Merrill, Bend, and Louisiana (yes, Louisiana!) joined us last week to learn more about Geomatics Surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This free five-day residential camp taught students about using high-tech geospatial technology to collect data in the field and analyze the great outdoors. The camp was sponsored by the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Department of Transportation and taught by Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech professor Jack Walker, Adjunct Professor Ethan Howard, and ODOT Senior Remote Sensing Surveyor and alumna Rhonda Dodge. Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech’s Educational Partnerships and Outreach works with programs and business partners to arrange camps for K-12 students throughout the summer. Next up- LEGO camps!
