Dr. Scott Prahl’s academic and professional background combines science and engineering (BS in Applied Physics from Caltech and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the UT Austin). His professional experience includes 20 years developing new technologies and devices in biomedical optics. He joined Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech in 2012 where is now a tenured Professor. His areas of teaching include circuits and optical engineering. Dr. Prahl currently serves as the program director of the dual major in optical engineering. His current research interests include differential interference microscopy, seeing through fog, fiber-based instrumentation to measure optical properties of tissues, and optical spectroscopy.
