Dr. Nupur Pande received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of California Irvine, holds a MSc. in Chemistry from Lucknow University, India, and was a post-doctoral fellow at UC San Francisco. She was a postgraduate researcher at the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. She held a faculty position at OHSU before coming to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech PM in 2021. She teaches the Gen-Ed chemistry Courses at the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech PM campus where she is keenly interested in developing research-based learning and teaching techniques for engaging and preparing her student population for today’s modern work environment.
She has studied molecular mechanisms discovering immune evasion genes of viral infection at the maternal-fetal interphase, the effect of dietary phytonutrients in programmed cell death pathways, and its genomic and proteomic consequences in cancer. She is deeply interested in identifying disease marker(s) and natural chemistries for devising methods that can detect cancers early.
She spends her free time designing garden spaces, working in her makeshift lab in the garage, taking lessons in world cuisine, hiking, going wine tasting, supporting animal rights, and reading books on the history of Science.
