Dr. Hammond received his BS in mathematics and chemistry from the California Institute of Technology in 1999, then taught high school mathematics for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi. Following this, he began graduate studies at the Courant Institute at New York University, where he received his PhD in mathematics in 2007. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland) and at the University of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, where his research interests focused on image and signal processing. Since 2013, Dr. Hammond has worked at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ - Portland-Metro, where he is currently a full professor of Mathematics.
