Before that, he earned his Master's degree in English Literature from Washington State University while focusing in the study of medieval literature, and then continued on to the Ph.D. program at WSU while switching his disciplinary focus to ecocriticism. Off-campus, Ben can most often be found outdoors with his wife and his dog. He enjoys backpacking, hiking, mountaineering, trail running, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, which makes Klamath Falls a perfect base camp. He also listens to an infinite amount of music and occasionally writes and performs his own. In whatever free time he has left after all this, he likes playing really old video games.
