What to expect as an Employer at an ˿Ƶ Tech Career Fair:

In-Person Career Fairs are located on the Klamath Falls or Portland-Metro campuses. Booths include a table and two chairs. A tablecloth will be provided if you do not bring your own. A sign on your table will include your company name, booth number and student check-in QR code. Parking and refreshments are included with employer registration fees. All employer representatives must check in at the Career Services table. For directions to our campuses click here.

Nametags will be provided for representatives that provided their name, title, and company to Career Services at least 2 days prior to the event. Representatives who are also alumni of ˿Ƶ Tech will be signified on their nametags.

Students at ˿Ƶ Tech are encouraged to attend our Career Services events. Therefore, you may see students within their freshman or sophomore years.  Students will receive nametags indicating their name, major, and school year for easier identification. Please take a moment to chat with all our students as they navigate the career fair and learn valuable networking skills.

What to expect as a Student or Alumni at an ˿Ƶ Tech Career Fair:

Career Fairs are the best place to connect with employers who may have job or internship opportunities and build your professional network. Regardless of your class year, this is a great opportunity to learn about employers in your field and practice networking skills.

Preparation: View Handshake for the list of attending employers. Take time to research the employers you are most interested in and prepare a few questions you can ask to find out more about the opportunities their organization offers. Meet with Career Services or attend a Prepare for the Fair workshop and create your resume. Be sure to bring a few printed resumes to the career fair. Show your potential employer that you understand and respect professional conduct by wearing neat clothing in line with your industry norms.

At the Fair: Career Services will provide a nametag for students at most career fairs. Be sure your name, major and school year are up to date in Handshake. Wear your nametag on either the right or left side of your body near your shoulder for easy visibility.

Be sure to introduce yourself to employers and ask the questions you prepared or the questions that are appropriate during your interaction with them. This is an chance to learn more about opportunities available in your area of interest.

Grab business cards/contact info for recruiters and be sure to send a follow-up email with those that you connected with.

Note

Career Services documents our recruiting events. Attendance by employer representatives, students, or alumni to a career fair gives ˿Ƶ Tech permission to photograph attendees and use images for programming or advertising purposes. Please contact Career Services for additional information.
