Treehouse

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ The Treehouse

The Treehouse is a student-run program under Diversity & Belonging and is housed in the student programs suite on the second floor of the College Union (Klamath Falls campus). The staff works actively against oppression, hate, sexism, racism, inequality and other injustices to promote a safe and welcoming environment for women, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other diverse groups.

Our vision is centered on a deeper understanding and appreciation for diversity, inclusivity, and equality for the people of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, Klamath Falls, and the world at large.

The Treehouse formed in the summer of 2018 when the Women’s Resource Center and Diversity Center merged programs in order to provide more support to the students of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech.

Events and Programs

The Treehouse regularly plans events that take place during fall, winter, and spring terms. We like to bring people together to celebrate identity and culture, talk about important issues, and eat good food. Here are a few of our past events:

This event occurs regularly each term and invites the campus community to better understand the complexities and diversity of the lived experiences of Women of Color, build solidarity, and grow community. Free dinner is served at every event.

Cultural Hours are an opportunity for the campus to engage in cultures that may be different from their own, by listening to an invited speaker talk about their culture and/or experience. Past cultural hours have included: Chinese New Year, Black History Month, Native Storytelling and more.

The Treehouse invites Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech community members from religious, non-religious, and other faith backgrounds to come together, eat, and learn more about what folks believe in and how we can better understand one another.

Each fall, The Treehouse coordinates an event that highlights the diversity of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech students, staff, and faculty by inviting the campus to participate in Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Around the World. Community members and cultural clubs present information on their cultures, where they come from, and sometimes serve foods and drinks.

Every spring, The Treehouse features a Women’s Health Banquet, inviting keynote speakers and professionals to present and raise awareness on women’s health issues.

This event invites folks to come to our space, listen to music, eat snacks, and paint their nails. Nail polish and snacks are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own favorite color!
