Community users are welcome to borrow circulating materials from the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Library. Borrowing privileges, for Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech-owned materials only, are provided for one year at a time. These privileges allow the holder to borrow up to 10 items at a time. Individual Library accounts may not be shared between family members.
Complimentary borrowing privileges are offered to: members of the Shaw Historical Library Board of Governors, Shaw Journal Editorial Board, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Alumni Association members, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Foundation members, and community borrowers registered before 1994.
Printing and Copying
Please see the "How do I print?" section on the Library FAQ page.
Interlibrary loan
Occasionally, you will find that we do not own the book or magazine that you need. When this occurs, record the full bibliographic citation (author, title, date of publication, journal issue number, and pagination) and request this material through your local public library.
Visiting scholars with an established relationship to the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Library, including Shaw Library Board members and journal editorial board, with a demonstrated research need may be able to request materials through the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Library. Contact the library Help Desk at 541-885-1772 for more information.
Application for borrowing privileges
In order to check out Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Library materials, you will need to complete an application for 'community-borrowing privileges'. You must be an Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ resident. You will need to show your driver's license or other photo identification along with proof of your mailing address. You will also need to know your Social Security number, which serves as your Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech identification number. If you choose not to submit a social security number, a substitute number can be provided to you through the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Registrars Office. Your account at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech will expire after one year.

Database and Computer Use
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech offers a variety of different databases through the library computers and free access to Federal and Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ State documents through Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech's online catalog. The databases can only be accessed at the Library unless you are a registered Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech student or staff member. Because of the variety of databases, ask at the Help Desk if you need help in locating material.
Although you cannot use Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Library's electronic databases off campus, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech's catalog (which includes Summit -- the catalog of the Orbis Cascade Alliance consortium) is accessible from the library's home page.
Library Services available to Dual Credit and HST Program Students
In addition to the services available to area high school students, those students who are taking classes through Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech are offered some additional services. Students who are in the Dual Credit or the High School Transition Program are eligible to apply for off-campus access to library databases and can request Interlibrary Loan services from the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech library.
