History of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Coaches
The coaches below are organized chronologically by the first year they began working at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech.
Coach Robin Parker: 1989-1991
Robin Parker coached the women’s basketball team from 1989-1991 when it was shut down due to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Ballot Measure 5, which was enacted in 1990.
Coach Pete Whisler: 1989-1990, 2001-2007
For one year Pete Whisler was the coach of the baseball team until it was forced to be dropped due to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Ballot Measure 5 which was enacted in 1990. However, in 2001 the team was started up again and he was made head coach once more. This time he held the potion for 7 years.
In the interim years of 1990-200 Pete Whisler coached the Mazama Highschool’s baseball team with great success. He won the 1996 4A Coach of the Year Award. After he second time coaching at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech he was the assistant baseball coach at Henley Highschool. He returned to coaching the Mazama team in spring of 2021.
Coach Craig Howard: 1990-1993
Craig Howard coached the football team from 1990 to its final year 1993, when the football program was dropped due to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Ballot Measure 5 which was enacted in 1990.
After leaving Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech Craig Howard coached at 2 high schools and then at Southern Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 64.
Coach Takashi Hirata: 1990-1991
Takashi Hirata coached the wrestling team for its final year. The wrestling team was discontinued due to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Ballot Measure 5, which was enacted in 1990.
Coach Ken Coffman: 1995-2011
In 1995 the cross-country team and the track team was restarted for both men and women and Ken Coffman was hired as the coach for all these teams. In 2009 he resigned from the cross-country coaching position, however he continued to coach the track and field team until 2011 when Jack Kegg took over as head coach.
Coach Leon Wilcox: 1998-2000
Leon Wilcox coached the newly restarted women’s volleyball team from 1998-2000, when Tom Loney took over. After Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech he went on to become a high school math teach, volleyball coach, and track coach at multiple high schools over the years.
Coach Mike Cornachione: 1999-2002
Mike Cornachione coached newly rebegun women’s soccer team from 1999-2002. He resigned from the position after only two seasons because he was also a full-time mechanical engineering professor and father of three and wanted to make sure the team was coached by someone who had enough time to do the team justice. He also stated he wanted to be able to dedicate more time to his family and his growing sons.
Coach Tom Loney: 2000-2007
Tom Loney coached the women’s volleyball team from 2000-2002. After this he coached the women’s basketball team and he held that position until 2007. He was then the Associate Athletic Director of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech.
Later he went on to become the athletic director of Henley High School.
Assistant Coach Bill Reinhard: 2000-Present
Bill Reinhard coaches the track and field team in pole vaulting and throwing. He also oversees fall training such as weightlifting.

Coach Kevin Brown: 2001-2011
From 2001-2011 Kevin Brown coached the rugby club at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech. Kevin Brown is a communications professor at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech.
Coach Jeff Corkill: 2001-Present
Jeff Corkill served as the head coach for the men and women’s golf team at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech for 8 years before stepping down in 2019-2020. He continues to serve as the assistant coach to both teams.

Coach Amanda Rico (Mitzner): 2002-2007
Amanda Rico coached the women’s volleyball team from 2002-2007.
Coach Kevin Sims: 2002-2005
The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech women’s soccer team was coached by Kevin Sims from 2002-2005, after which it was coached by Bryan Mueller.
