Student worker in the Athletic Training department at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech (October 2020 - Present)

A Little Bit Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Me

I’m a senior majoring in population health management, minoring in medical sociology and psychology. I am grateful for my time at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech because I’ve met amazing friends and supportive professors while making lifelong memories. I’m originally from Happy Valley, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ. But I have found that Klamath Falls suits me because of the community and pace of life here. My husband and I own a house in Klamath, so we see ourselves setting roots here for a while. We have two dogs and a cat that are spoiled rotten.

Why I Chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and My Major

I chose Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech because of the student-to-faculty ratio offered here. It has been beneficial to have intimate classes because it gives all students a chance to participate, and there is better communication between the instructors and students. It has enhanced my learning, and I enjoy the pace of life in Klamath. The tight community is lovely to experience, reminding me of my hometown. I chose Population Health Management because I have a passion for improving the health outcomes of my community.

My Influential Professors

The first that comes to mind is Dr. Kyle Chapman, my advisor and a significant influence on me. He has helped ground me and give me a realistic view of my future. It's a daunting task to plan out your collegiate career and your life after college. And Dr. Chapman has been supportive of my time here. Another notable professor is Indy Recker. She brings this bright energy to every class and ensures all her students feel seen. She checked in on me when she saw I was struggling and always offered to help her students.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech

My most significant learning experience at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech has been learning to be courageous. Before coming here, I was the type of person who would quit when I realized that I was not good/good enough at something. In my past few years at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech, I've had to learn to persist and be courageous in my pursuits.

My Plans After Graduation

I plan to find a job in Klamath Falls after graduation. I would like a job that involves organizing community programs and services, as I am passionate about planning health initiatives and prevention programs. My major allows me to move around in healthcare careers, from grant manager to public health advisor.
