RDH to BSDH Degree Completion Program
Are you looking to further your education as a dental hygienist? Advancement or new options in your career?
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's online degree completion program enables professional dental hygienists to complete a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. The program integrates dental hygiene, public health, applied research, education, and management courses with a general education core.
Our online RDH to BSDH degree completion program is ideal for practicing, licensed hygienists. It offers you a self directed route for advanced education in the profession, advancement or new options in your career, and the bachelor's degree required for entry into master's degree programs. Many of our students go on to advanced degrees in business, education and more.
Who is Eligible?
- You must have graduated from an accredited dental hygiene program or receive departmental approval prior to enrolling.
- You must successfully complete the Dental Hygiene National Board Examination.
- You must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state where you live.
- You must meet the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech admissions criteria. Special admissions arrangements are also available.
Program Goals and our Commitment to our Students
- Provide a quality bachelor degree completion program that recognizes the achievement of passing the dental hygiene national board exam and state or regional clinical exams.
- Recognize the growth in career opportunities and provide core courses to expose students to business management, education, public health, and evidence-based decision making.
- Help students plan a course schedule that ensures academic success by factoring in professional and personal commitments.
- Allow students to explore further areas of interest by offering elective choices.
- Prepare students for graduate-level courses.
- Build positive relationships between core dental hygiene faculty and students to mentor and help students achieve degree goals.
You will begin the program with a foundation for degree completion built upon two sources: credit you complete at another college and transfer to Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech and credit granted for successful completion of the dental hygiene national board examination. For example, 86 credits are granted for the national exam.
Once you are admitted to the program, our staff will conduct a transfer evaluation of your prior coursework to see which classes are applicable toward your bachelor’s degree. After the evaluation is complete, we will contact you with an advising guide showing your transfer credits, registry credits, and future classes needed for completion. You may view the curriculum, including courses granted for registry, under Curriculum.
