President Naganathan, Dee Thompson, and Tom Thompson

The William A. Olson, Jr. Entrepreneurial Laboratory, CEET 208, is a collaborative workspace designed to bring together students from both Colleges to promote cross-disciplinary problem solving, experiential learning, and the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. William "Bill" Andre Olson, Junior graduated from Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech in 1962 with a degree in highway technology and credited Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech for his successful career with the National Mapping Division of the U.S. Geological Service (USGS). His work at the USGS contributed to establishing the network of latitude and longitude coordinates and elevations that make today’s satellite-dependent global positioning system (GPS) possible. Through their contributions, Diedra (Bill’s sister) and Tom Thompson are very proud to honor Bill’s memory with the William A. Olson, Jr. Entrepreneurial Laboratory.

Eberlein Family Computer Laboratory ribbon cutting

The Eberlein Family Computer Laboratory, CEET 206, fulfills a vital student need for an extended hours on-campus computer laboratory. This laboratory is designed to accommodate a large capacity of students concurrently using computers and can be partitioned to function as a teaching laboratory while simultaneously serving as a student computer laboratory. Thanks to the Eberlein Families: Frank and Vernice, Alan and Carol, and Neal and Susan. Two words that describe the Eberlein family are entrepreneurs and volunteers. With roots dating back to the early 1930s, all members of the family have been actively involved in the community, serving on various boards and committees, and building their successful family businesses.

Andrew and John Wymore at the Rapid Prototyping Laboratory

Outfitted with state-of-the-art rapid prototyping equipment, such as 3D printers and laser cutters, the John and Andrew Wymore Rapid Prototyping Laboratory, Cornett Hall 230, helps students quickly take their designs from a simple idea to a prototype part that they can inspect, test, and refine. John Wymore graduated from Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech in 1978 with degrees in mechanical engineering and drafting technology. John enjoyed a successful career as an engineer for Mercedes-Benz Trucks where he managed the prototype development shop. John is very proud to support this lab, along with his son Andrew, with the hope that it will help future students and faculty maintain the competitive edge that an Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech education provides.

The Naganathan Undergraduate Research Laboratory, CEET 206A, provides the space and potential for innovative undergraduate research in areas such as computational chemistry and physics. Drs. Kasturi and Nagi Naganathan deeply believe in the value of applied learning and the power of philanthropy to make a difference for talented students and dedicated faculty. Since Dr. Nagi Naganathan’s appointment as the 7th president of the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, he and his wife have championed capital renovation investments and propelled positive connections within our campus communities, the state of Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, and beyond with an intention to enhance student experiences and provide highly skilled professionals for in-demand careers in health, technology, and engineering industries.
