Be a part of bridging the gap between software and hardware design by expanding your knowledge and applying new ideas in practical design through hands-on education at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech
What You'll Learn
The goal of the Embedded Systems Engineering Technology (ESET) program is to prepare you with the skills demanded by real-world industries. Key to this process is hands-on experience with Embedded Systems platforms.
The ESET program at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech will prepare you to enter firmware development on these highly robust, mission critical platforms.
The program is a blend of small class sizes and hands-on labs and projects, bringing the devices of interest directly into the hands of students. This is an applied program, where the learning is in the doing.
Students work directly with concepts and technologies such as:
- Systems on a Chip
- Embedded Networking
- Real Time Operating Systems
- Embedded Testing
- Embedded Security
Hardware and Software Common First Year
Accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, .
Careers
The ESET program at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech prepares students to enter software development on highly robust, mission critical platforms. Engineers with this knowledge are in high demand, and the demand curve is growing exponentially. This program prepares students for productive careers in industry and government.
Graduates of the ESET program enjoy immediate employment in a technically hungry industry. Individuals obtaining a degree in ESET end up working in demanding positions where programming precision and accountability are top priority.
Recent demand has seen industry recruiters ask for ESET graduates specifically. This is a growth industry. Demand for ESET skills will only increase.
Cooperative Field Experience
The includes work experience during the junior and senior years. The co-op period is an employment arrangement with an employer in the area of the student's major field with normal salary and academic credit. These arrangements are made on an individual basis and the student is under no obligation to accept permanent employment with any previous co-op employer.
Embedded Systems Engineering Technology Faculty
Courses
The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Tech ESET curriculum gives critical knowledge in an area of software engineering which exists directly on the hardware, providing low level operation and hardware abstraction to higher level software constructs.
This program provides an excellent education; incorporating industry-relevant, applied laboratory-based instruction in both the theory and application of embedded systems engineering. Our focus is educating students to meet the growing workforce demand in Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ and elsewhere for graduates prepared in both hardware and software aspects of embedded systems.
